Your Tauranga dog walker & pet sitter

Hi, I'm Bianca

I've owned dogs and cats all my life, I've walked dogs before, and right now I share my home with two cats of my own. So I know how important it is to leave your pets with someone you can trust.

My walks are tailored to your dog: plenty of play, attention and enrichment, matched to their personality and energy. I walk around Bethlehem, Otūmoetai, Judea, Matua and nearby, on tracks and along the waterfront where dogs are allowed. I'm fit, healthy and love being outdoors, so a good long walk is my favourite part of the day too.

For cats and other pets, I'll pop in with patience, affection and plenty of attention while you're away, and I'm happy to give oral medication. My goal is simple: happy, comfortable pets, and peace of mind for you.

Local know-how

Where Tauranga dogs love to walk, and the rules I follow

I know the local dog rules, so your dog is always walked somewhere safe, legal and fun.

Waterfront · I keep dogs on lead

Waikareao Estuary Walkway

A flat, scenic loop around the estuary between Otūmoetai, Judea and the city. Busy with walkers and cyclists, so I keep dogs on lead on the path.

On lead at all times

Matua Salt Marsh

Quiet boardwalks, birdlife and harbour views. Council rules say dogs must be on a lead here at all times, and I stick to that.

Off lead where allowed

Local parks & reserves

Dogs can be off lead in most Tauranga parks, reserves and beaches, except in council-designated on-lead or dog-free areas. Your dog only goes off lead with your OK and reliable recall.

Rules I always follow

  • Dogs on lead on every footpath, road and grass berm
  • No dogs on Mauao, Pilot Bay or Mount Main Beach, including the walkways, grass and dunes
  • A lead always in hand, and every poo picked up and binned
  • Never more than two dogs at once. Council rules allow up to four dogs on lead per person, but two means proper attention

Rules are changing

Tauranga City Council's draft dog bylaw (consultation closed in July 2026, decision expected late 2026 or early 2027) proposes a limit of two off-lead dogs per person. I already never walk more than two, so nothing changes for your dog.

Current as of October 2026. See the council's dog exercising areas page for the full list.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which suburbs do you cover?

My main area is Tauranga's western and central suburbs, Welcome Bay and the Mount: Bethlehem, Otūmoetai, Matua, Judea, Brookfield, Bellevue, Te Puna, Tauranga CBD, Gate Pā, Greerton, Parkvale, Merivale, Pyes Pā, The Lakes, Tauriko, Maungatapu, Hairini, Welcome Bay, Ohauiti, Mount Maunganui, Omanu, Arataki, Bayfair. Pick-up and drop-off is free in all of these. Ōmokoroa is by arrangement for +$5 per visit.

How much does dog walking cost?

A 30-minute walk is $20 and a 60-minute walk is $25, including pick-up and drop-off. That is below the typical Tauranga price of about $25 for 30 minutes. A second dog from the same home is $10 extra on a 30 or 60-minute walk. A buddy walk is $20 per dog. You get 10% off when you book 5 or more walks or visits a week.

How many dogs do you walk at once?

Never more than two. Most walks are one-on-one. Two dogs only walk together when they live in the same home, or on a buddy walk, where your dog is paired with one friendly dog I already walk. Buddy partners are matched after both meet and greets, and only if the dogs get on.

What happens at the free meet and greet?

I come to your home for about 20 to 30 minutes to meet your pet and learn their routine, likes, dislikes, health needs and quirks. We sort out keys or access, and you can ask me anything. There's no obligation to book.

Will my dog be walked on or off lead?

Dogs are always on lead on footpaths and roads, as council rules require. In parks and on beaches where off-lead is allowed, your dog only goes off lead if you've said yes and their recall is reliable.

Can you take my dog to Mount Main Beach or up Mauao?

No. Dogs are banned all year from Mauao, Pilot Bay and Mount Main Beach, including the walkways, grass and dunes. I stick to tracks, parks, reserves and beaches where dogs are allowed.

Do you walk puppies and big dogs?

Yes. Puppies and dogs of all sizes are welcome, and there's no surcharge for big dogs. Shorter 30-minute walks are ideal for puppies who are still building up their stamina.

What happens on a drop-in visit?

Whatever your pet needs, in up to 30 minutes: feeding, fresh water, the litter tray, a toilet break or play for dogs, cuddles, and oral medication if needed. I can also bring in the mail, water plants and change curtains and lights so your home looks lived in.

Do you do cat sitting, and look after other small pets?

Yes. I have two cats of my own, and I'm happy to care for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and ferrets too. Your pets stay in their own home, so there's no cattery stress or travel.

Is a home visit cheaper than a cattery or kennel?

Often, yes. Tauranga catteries charge about $15 to $28 per cat per night, plus the drive and the stress of a carrier. A visit from me is $20 for one pet (+$5 per extra pet), or $35 for two visits a day, and your pets stay in their own home.

Do you do overnight stays?

Not at the moment. Two visits a day, morning and evening, keeps most cats and many dogs happy and settled while you are away.

How will I know how the walk or visit went?

After every walk or visit I send a photo and a short report by text or WhatsApp: how long we were out, toilet stops, food and water, and anything you should know.

What happens if my pet gets sick or hurt?

I'll contact you straight away. If it's urgent, I'll take your pet to your own vet, or to an after-hours clinic in an emergency, using the vet details and permission we agree at the meet and greet.

How do you keep my keys safe?

Keys are labelled with a code, never your address, and kept secure. A lockbox or door code works well too.

How do I pay, and what if I need to cancel?

You get one invoice a week, paid by bank transfer. There are no contracts. Cancelling or changing a booking is free until 12pm the day before. After that, half the price is charged.

What happens if it rains?

Walks go ahead in light rain, with a good towel-down afterwards. In storms or extreme heat I'll keep your dog safe with a shorter walk and indoor play instead, and let you know.
